-
DescriptionSecretin (28-54), human, which acts on human secretin receptors, is a 27-amino acid residue C-terminally amidated peptide, .(In Vitro):Secretin is a hormone produced and secreted from the endocrine S cells in response to the gastric acid and lipid components. Secretin potentiates enzyme secretion from the acinar cell. Secretin is also a putative mitogen to promote pancreatic growth. In the stomach and gall bladder, Secretin inhibits gastric emptying and acid release and stimulates biliary output of water and bicarbonate. Secretin elicits its biological effects by interacting with specific cell surface receptors.
